2010 Wisconsin Baseball Report Pitcher of the Month

April 2010
Jared Dettmann (class of 2011) from Somerset High School is pitcher of the month. Jared was 3-0 with a ERA of .053. He threw a NO-HITTER Vs. Prescott striking out 15 batters. He also threw a two hitter. So far this season, Jared has faced 101 batters striking out 48. Jared is a DI prospect. He is a hard throwing left handed pitcher who throws in mid 80's. Jared is 6'3', weighs 175lbs, bats left, throws left. His secondary position is 1st base. Jared played for the Wisconsin All-Stars Baseball Club team in 2009.

Week of May 10-16
Player of the Week for May 10-May 16 is Luke Golisch from Merrill High School. Luke threw a NO-HITTER against Northwood Pines. Merrill won in 5 innings by the score of 10-0. Luke struck out 5 batters while giving up one walk. Luke is an All-Conference pitcher, class of 2011. He stands 6'3", weighs 190 lbs, and has achieved a GPA of 3.47. Luke throws in the low to mid 80's. Luke wants to major in education.

Week of May 3-9
Nick Schadrie, from DePere High School pitched a NO-HITTER Vs. Manitowoc. DePere won the game on a 5 inning run rule by a score of 11-0. Nick struck out 12 batters.

Week of April 19-25
The Player of the Week is catcher & right handed pitcher Brady Flaherty from Unity High School. Brady had a week to remember. In four games Brady batted .733. He was 11 for 15 with 4 HR, 5 doubles, 11 RBI's and 8 runs scored. He led his baseball team to a 3-1 record for the week picking up a win and saving a game on the hill. Brady is a junior. He was 1st Team All-Lakeland Conference as a sophomore.

Week of April 12-18
This week two players were named "PLAYER of the WEEK". The players are Connor Mc Elligott from Green Lake and Colin "LEFTY" Grove from Beloit Memorial High School. Connor had a great week with 10 hits in 13 at bats to go along with 9 runs scored, 16 RBI's, 4 doubles and 1 home run. On the hill Connor was 1-0 in 7 innings pitched while striking out 15 batters. Connor's primary position is 1st base, secondary position is pitcher. As a junior, Connor was 1st Team All-Conference.

Colin also had a great week. Pitching against Madison LaFollette in the tough BIG 8 Conference, Colin pitched a complete game striking out 15 batters while giving up 1 earned run and walking 1 batter. For the season Colin is batting .500 (15 hits in 30 AB's). On the hill Colin has been clocked at 84-86 mph. So far this season Colin has struck out 36 batters in 21 innings pitched. He has only given up one earned run. When Colin is not pitching he plays outfield. In 2009, Colin played for the Wisconsin All-Stars Baseball Club.

Week of April 5 - April 11 is Jacob Berra a junior from Lake Country Lutheran High School. Jacob plays centerfield for the Lightning. In 4 games (wins over Horicon and Johnson Creek, losses to Wausau East and Johnson Creek), Jacob was 9 for 12 (.750) with 10 runs scored, 4 doubles, 2 triples, and 13 RBIs. He also drew 4 walks and did not strike out. His on-base-percentage was .833 and his slugging percentage was 1.417.

Week of March 29 to April 4 is Pete Strommen. Pete attends Madison East High School, class of 2011. For the week Pete batted .500 with 3 home runs (2 in one game VS Oregon High School) with 8 RBI's. His slugging percentage was .1500 (15 total bases in 10 AB's). Pete was 1st Team All-Conference as a sophomore. Pete stands 6'2' and weighs 175lbs. Primary position is outfield. Secondary position is shortstop or third base. Pete is a very good high school baseball player that will only get better at the college level. He is a college prospect.
